NEW: Former Trump Admin Official and GOP Congressman Launch Anti-Communist China Initiative Encouraging State Lawmakers to Address the Threat of Communist China

The Protecting America Initiative launched after national polling indicating Americans are increasingly concerned by the growing threat of China in the U.S.

A new non-profit group led by two top conservative leaders launched today to support state lawmakers in their effort to crack down on the growing threat of the Communist Chinese Party (CCP). The Protecting America Initiative is led by Richard Grenell, former Ambassador to Germany and Acting Director of National Intelligence in the Trump Administration, and Lee Zeldin, former New York congressman and gubernatorial candidate. 

The group’s launch follows new polling published earlier this week showing China is viewed by voters as America’s top threat and that there is overwhelming support across the country for various state legislative actions to inoculate America from the Communist threat. A new video highlighting the need to protect American culture, infrastructure, and food supply from China’s growing threat was also released by the group today in conjunction with its launch. 

Richard Grenell, Senior Advisor to the Protecting America Initiative, released the following statement:

The threat from the Chinese Communist Party is on the rise, and their dangerous ideas have been allowed to infiltrate American culture. Our borders, critical infrastructure, higher education system, and agriculture industries are all under assault. Communist China is seeking to influence our country and erase our liberties. 

Lee Zeldin, Senior Advisor to the Protecting America Initiative, released the following statement:

Every facet of American life is dealing with unprecedented Chinese influence, America’s farmers and small business owners are on an uneven playing field, our students are seeing their campuses being taken over by CCP ideas, and our border patrol agents are facing a record number of Chinese nationals coming across our border.

We can no longer rely on a broken Washington swamp to stop this — we need state leaders from across the country to step up and protect all Americans from the growing China threat before it’s too late.

The group’s launch also follows recent polling from the Tyson Group that shows the threat of Communist China looms over Americans not only when it comes to our national security and border, but Americans are also worried about China’s threat to our food supply, infrastructure, economy, and culture. The survey also found that candidates who fail to support policies to crack down on the threat of China will be punished by their electorate. 

Upon launch, the Protecting America Initiative released a video explaining the need to protect America from the threat of China.
